Bye bye PW/Clean up your contacts
After 2 consecutive nights of sleeping at 3/4AM, I finally finished knowing the plot of 福气又安康. I can only concentrate on watching a drama in full details when I know the ending. The suspense kills me. =/ That's why surprises are always nice since I get the prize without all that anticipation.

Of course, the point of watching a drama is to watch how it unfolds, but I need to know the ending so that I won't keep thinking about it during work. I can't afford a lapse in concentration..

Anyway, went to school today to submit GPF and finally, we're rid of PW. (: Congratulations, comrade! Our year-long nightmare has finally ended.

Now that we're done with PW, I'm wondering what to do because many things have come to a standstill to make time for PW. I still need to mastering the fingering for the chromatic scale on my flute, and to finish up all the homework.

Today is probably a good time to re-organize my life since its my off day.

Went to CWP after I handed in GPF to return my library books and to do some shopping. I've maxed out my loan quota of 6 books again and I wonder if I can finish all 6 books this time round since they are like half the thickness of the previous 6 books I borrowed.

There must be some korean craze now because there is 0 guidebooks on Korean available in the library right now (okay, there was one for advanced korean which is obviously not my standard). =/ Couldn't find any books on pharmacy that could be borrowed. I suppose they are all in the reference section and can't be borrowed home to sit upon (literally). o.o

Mila was having their 50% sales as usual and there was this halter dress which caught my eyes. It was quite affordable after the discount but my mum's warning to stop buying clothes rings in my ears and I feel really guilty because the balance in my account is falling at an alarming rate. I still need to survive on those money until the end to this month! So I gave it a miss. =/ Also, it looks abit weird on me because of my small(er) frame and I die die want it.

My motto? Never buy any clothes you can live without. Money must be well-spent! The fact that the latest addition  to my wardrobe (my pretty lace dress for birthday) was bought less than a month ago further discouraged from buying that dress. Moolah saved. (:

My contacts solution was down to the last few drops so I had to refresh my supplies by today and I went around to check out the prices. Watsons' selling Complete's solution at 2x360ml+4x60ml for $23 but I was looking more for 3x360ml so I didn't buy. Definitely a good package for travellers and not me since I'm stuck in Singapore 99% of the time.

Some optics shop was selling Complete's 3x360ml for $23 but I didn't want to lug it back to Admiralty to I just decided to buy it at the one near my house instead.

Before leaving CWP, I went to satisfy my craving for quality honey green tea and was not disappointed. ((:

The honey at CWP's Sweettalk was in the undiluted form and the amount added was more than the amount of diluted honey at Admiralty's Sweettalk. No money added for request of extra honey too! Quality service. I like. ^^ (Pearls were all fully cooked and bouncy. Wonderful drink!)

I shall never ever buy from Admiralty's Sweettalk again. Humph.

So with wonderful honey green tea in hand, I went back to admiralty to get my contacts solution. My original intention was to get Complete's solution (cleans very well!) but it was going for 2x360ml+free hand towel for $18 when I wanted 3x360ml. While paying for it, I saw Renu's solution going for 3x355ml+2x60ml going for $20 and asked about it. The guy at the shop kindly offered me the option to change and I obviously took it.

3x355ml+2x60ml for $20 is very cheap! Renu's solution are not that cheap either, even though it is not as good as Complete's.

My ranking for contacts solution goes like this:

  1. Complete
  2. ReNu
  3. SoloCare
I have not tried Opti-free but I was most glad to be rid of 3x360ml bottles of SoloCare because it doesn't get rid of protein well and it is not even cheap now (it was when I first tried it. 3x360ml for $20).

Now I don't have to worry about contacts solution for at least another 6 months but I need to get new contacts soon. -.- Everything runs out at the same time...

Oh pay, oh pay~! I need you!

On a sidenote, I really feel like buying an iPod classic now. Not having to depend on my laptop to watch dramas is so appealing to me. Travelling time can be so much better utilized with iPod classic since I both watch dramas and listen to music. And the space that can be freed from my HDD with iPod classic's 160GB storage!

Chrome yours today!
Chrome is no doubt the fastest browser around. I'm trading Firefox for Chrome. Firefox is simply too laggy these days. =/

Chrome have themes too, not that I'm really into customizing my browsers. I just want them to be efficient, user-friendly and pleasant-looking.

Today is a boring day and work was boring too. It must be the slowest 6 hours since I started working. -.-

Should I buy the 160GB Ipod Classic? Its $388. If I have it I'll be able to clear some 40 over GB out of my HDD as well as access my movies and dramas whenever I want to. 36 hours of music playback and 6 hours of video! Not to mention bigger screen (than Nano).

Maybe I should get it after A levels since it is not likely that my Nano will die on me so soon. I am considering a netbook too. Hmmm... I'm wondering when's the next IT fair. Sony camera will have to wait. A good photographer can take good pictures with any cameras right? My pink Sanyo will have to do for now. Definitely better than nothing at all.

Good luck to OP peeps tomorrow!

1000 dollar bill
Yesterday morning, my mum suggested eating lunch at macs with my sis so I gladly took it up. We all upsized our meal again and honestly, I've got enough game labels to start another 2 or 3 boards complete with all the common game pieces.
I am so not going to eat Macs anymore even if my mum offer to treat me the next time round. -.-

Math tuition in the afternoon showed that I have completely forgotten about integration by substitution and is mixing up the results of integration with that of differentiation. What do you get when you differentiate tan x? I wrote sec x tan x. -.- (Correct answer: sec^2 x)

At work yesterday, I kena another 1000 dollar note again. Why do people carry 1000bucks around with them? Its not like you're gonna make purchases of hundreds of dollars in your daily life very often right (if you are shopping in neighbourhood supermarkets -.-). The previous one was from a chinese man (wth, if you have so much money why still come SGP work? still so rich after dividing the value of your assets by 5!) and yesterday's was from a local chinese man. $950 in denominations of $50 is not easy to count when you have not mastered how to speed-count money. That man could count it very fast (I counted it twice and kindly asked my colleague to count another time for me) so I assume he is very rich. 人不可漏相, man. He should've been living in a more atas neightbourhood...

I noticed that Chinese (nationality) and Foreign workers (read in-between lines please) all pay in 50bucks, which made me wonder, what made them came to Singapore? This place is tiny, warm, and so squeezy compared to their homeland. Not to mention the food is quite different and there are plenty of languages they don't understand. Singapore's standard of living can't be much higher/lower (comparative to different cities) than their own country, can it?

I'm starting to like Nets more because it does not involve counting money. Somehow, the feeling to handing your card over feels better than to hand over cash for me. It is more dangerous to carry cash around anyway. You can disable your card but cash is universal.

There's this chinese (nationality. my neighbourhood is filled with them recently, for some very weird reasons. The sweettalk near my house is totally operated by them as well) man with a severely chipped ATM card and I had to swipe it like 10 times to get it through. It looks like somebody tried to cut it at the sides but somehow changed their mind at the last minute. -.- How can anybody be so bad to their cards? Some people with the ancient grey POSB card totally have it in mint condition. FYI, the POSB card is blue in colour now. The latest one have the word Go! on it. My one doesn't. ): And my account is relatively new too.

Anyway, there were less people than yesterday and my back doesn't ache that much so I wasn't so miserable yesterday. No abusive customers too.

But I could do better if people stop trying to imply/ask if I am chinese (nationality) or not. I do not have the china look! =.= I am going to speak singaporean chinese from now on to avoid that question. I don't look Singaporean meh? Why ask me where I am from?!

Zzz...

Facebook has new photos of the new school campus by some SCs who went there. The interior design is whopping and I felt totally excited looking at those photos (at 2 AM in the morning). Wts, we can only use for one year! They should totally have some special place for us to make it up lor. *sigh* Jealous.

OP's OVER
H1 PW is like unofficially over since there's still I&R and GPF, but still, no more group work to be done. (: I'm sure you can infer why I'm glad.

Woke up very early this morning and felt sleepy because I slept later than intended because I kept rehearsing my lines over and over again. Forgot to pop in vitamin pills before I left the house so I was very very sleepy. I survived through OP on pure adrenaline from stress.

I was actually fine during our final rehearsal before the actual thing but I screwed up after that. We are 1 of the 5 lucky groups today to kena the internal and external moderators today so our panel consists of 7 people instead of 2. 2 internal moderators, 2 external moderators, 1 cambridge personnel and 2 assessors. Trying to look at 7 people was hard enough so I didn't really look at the audience much.

When we were listening to groups without the moderators, the atmosphere was so much lighter that it almost felt casual. Just like rehearsals. -.-

Totally screwed up Q&A because the questions was not the kind that I can expand on the spot unlike the question Ms Tan asked yesterday (what changes would i make to my strategy). T.T Technically, I only raised 1 point in order to show that we have faith in what we came up with (we really do, at least for strat 1, part of which is my brainchild!) so that means I'm really screwed. I didn't expect to screw Q&A because I could answer Ms Tan's questions (most of the time). T.T

Got tricked into staying in school to wait for the other groups after we're done with our obligations during which me and VY slept outside the library. To commemorate the end of PW, VY and I decided to go and eat out on our own since other groups who are obviously more harmonious than us decided to go celebrate together.

We went to Anchorpoint and I ate some Hainanese Pork Cutlet rice and VY ate Chicken Primera (or something like that). I discovered another Sweettalk there. Totally wth, because I never knew there were Sweettalks near our school and now I find out that there's 2. =.=

I went home to rest immediately after that because my back was breaking. I only got to lie down for 10+minutes after I blow dried my hair before I got to go out of work again.

Couldn't sit down from 5-8/9PM at all. Everybody was coming back from work to do some food/snack shopping. I wouldn't have found that a problem during any other normal days but not today! (and the next few days.)

Lying flat down on my back is the only comfortable position to me now. I'm only here because I wanted to blog about the end of OP since it is significant. I hope we won't get filmed (our chances are higher since the moderators have seen us and might want to film the same people). ._.

I shall go make myself comfortable now.

Pre-OP
I am not panicking yet but I will be when I wake up tomorrow morning.

This is not the first A levels' assessment yet I'm still feeling nervous about it. Talk for 4 minutes straight without making any form of mistake is a very challenging task for me. I trip over my words all the time even when I don't have to memorize them!

Didn't update yesterday because I was feeling emo for some reasons. If my bed is not right next to the wall, I would've said I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Anyway, a bar of Cookies and Cream Milkybar solved that problem so I was feeling quite nice and cheery today.

I took urgent off for today because I just realized that I have to sleep early today for the early start tomorrow so I can't sleep at such a late time and be so tired. Its A levels' after all. There is hardly any room for screwing up since its about the only thing we have to fall back on without an O levels' cert.

I reached school this morning at the designated time and as expected, everybody else was late. Oh well. I exchanged one of my instant win label at Macs for a Sausage Mcgriddle and it tastes really weird. The top and bottom are like pancakes dipped in maple syrup (sweet) while the sausage in the middle is just like itself (salty), so it tastes weird. After a few bites, I just ate up the top and bottom first before finish the sausage. On their own, they are actually quite nice.

We rehearsed from morning to afternoon and didn't even stop in-between to eat lunch. We only thought of lunch at around 2PM when we were about to end our meeting and I went home to eat lunch.

Bought my first cup of sweettalk after a long long time and .. it totally sucks. I shall not buy from the Sweettalk near my house again. The china woman always refuse to add extra honey for me. I can hardly taste the honey in my Honey green tea at all. It also tasted damn dilute. To think I still wanted to be nicer to my throat since I could feel it constricting from being too dry. =/

I shall continue to rattle off my script until I mumble it in my sleep. Good luck to all the peeps OP-ing tomorrow. We'll be rid of PW soon!!! =D

I guess there is no need for me to complain about PW since we all know how sucky it is.

Met up for PW in the morning and I was finishing up the entry in Wikipedia on Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly. The plot's much better than Fatal Frame 1. It really is less scary to be exposed to it in broad daylight. I scared myself with FF2 last night before I was supposed to sleep and had a really bad sleep. =/

We presented in 4C and I was struggling to keep my cool. Public speaking sucks when it has such serious implication. I don't know if I can hold up in front of the actual assessors. >.< I've had problems with my nerves since I was young. It never got better since I didn't had much practice. =/

I really hope I don't screw up PW because Pharmacy had been my goal for some time now. I am extremely reluctant to give it up for the alternative (which doesn't seem very promising). I'll drift further and further away from biopolis not that I am still dreaming about getting in there. I figured a person of my caliber will never make it in there since I was never a straight As student.

After the session with Ms Tan, we decided to continue and went for lunch @ Vivo's Kopitiam. While we were walking there, jimtao (you can go ahead and guess who this person is) totally entertained me by telling me this nickname (s/he?) has. I laughed out loud (like figuratively) at the walkway connected to Vivo in unglamness but it was really funny. Can't stop laughing. xD (s/he?) is totally stuck with that nickname for now! Must respond hor!

The food there (on average) has a minimum price of 4 bucks (hell expensive even with 10% from blue card). I couldn't really decide what to eat so I just decided to pamper myself for another day and indulged in Kimchi Fried Rice (U.P: $5, $4.50 after 10% off) since I haven't eaten Kimchi in a really long time.

It was pretty good and much preferred to Pepper Lunch which I so hate. All you can taste is actually pepper and its so hot that its scalding, not to mention you have to actually do the cooking yourself when you paid so much for it? It is just a novelty. It doesn't really appeal to me.

Although I can tahan the spiciness of Kimchi without water, I got thirsty after that and really craved a drinks from sweettalk. I haven't drank Honey Green Tea for a really long time now since I was reluctant to spend money on it. I am more willing to fork out $0.65 for Red bull because it keeps me alert when I couldn't get enough sleep on working days. It works (for me)~

Anyway, VY showed us the Sweettalk @ Vivo which none of us knew existed. I was still wondering where the teachers got their sweettalk from. -.-

Took purple line to castle (default meeting place other than alr I think) and PW-ed. Some time after cracking our heads over the list of questions, we were presented with a box of chocolate and we actually almost finished it despite its hardness and our OP assessment <3days later.

Its my off day today so I could stay later with the rest.

My mum prepared hot pot and it was crazy to eat it in this kind of weather. Nonetheless, it was nice to eat (gotta love to cook the lean pork, pig liver and fish slices). I finally finished watching the recording of the 9PM Olympic show since I didn't have spare time to watch on working days. Happy ending. (:

I want to watch 陈乔恩‘s 福气又安康... and We got Married! I'm still stuck at ep10 part B. =.= It has over 50 episodes? How am I supposed to finish?!

My eyelids just turned into lead and I can barely keep them open. I'll blog about birthday really soon! =//

Zzzz...

4A08 Chalet 2009
26th October 2009

I was due to be in school at around 10AM (can't really remember exact time) to meet Ms Tan to discuss our WR so I went early to make up for being late the previous times (on purpose because always have to wait very long for the rest to come -.-). Camped in front of my com and tried to do my I&R while waiting for Ms Tan to be free and for group members to come.

By the time we were done, it was like 12++PM already. The initial plan was to meet at Pasir Ris at 1.30PM to buy BBQ food but ZX suggested a meeting at JE first. Very little could make it at the stipulated time at JE so I met up with ZX at Outram first since I was taking the purple line from Harbourfront.

Then we went to Bugis to find lunch for me and proceeded to Pasir Ris asap because I was the acting Treasurer (Emily was held in school) and has the money as well as shopping list for BBQ. We finally arrived at nearly 2 I think. Total expenditure amounted to $108 which was $3 over our strict budget and Zuzu (Shinzu) was feeling rich so she offered to pay the excess.

The guys made themselves useful and carried the stuffs while we walked to a taxi/bus stop to wait for Aloha Loyang's shuttle bus. The journey there by bus was relatively fast and we checked into Garden Bungalow 3 (i think?) Egret. =D

As with all other Bungalows in AL, it was very spacious. They revamped it though. The wardrobe was new (but we didn't use it) and I don't think the bed had bed bugs (阴影) from 2B chalet. Lol. It can accommodate up to 40 person in the day but we only had 20 over peeps because people turned up and left at different times so people who stayed throughout had a lot of personal space. There was even a room that nobody slept in.

After we checked in, some peeps started playing cards and I started to housekeep. Lol. It translates to boiling water so that we would have plain water to drink when we ran out of soft drinks since there were only 4 pathetic bottles and there are no Cheers or 7-11 nearby. The nearest shop is the bicycle rental shop which sells some stuffs but obviously they are obviously more expensive.

While waiting for the water to boil, I went to join the rest at their card games. Apparently, while they were playing Uno, ZX's uno card kept being exchanged away by other people because of the friendship card and he never had a single one of those during the entire game. Lol.

We started BBQ at around 6PM but setting up of fire took very very long so when I came out to check out the progress of the BBQ pit team after I finished preparing the food, pit was not ready yet. (We always face this prob during chalet =/)

Geri's superb self-shot skills

Skewered cuttlefish balls, hotdog and cocktail sausages

Otah and satays

Charcoal burning in progress

BBQ peeps group shot.
KC acting coy!

Hard at work

Still hard at work.

Lousy camera angle but it was dark alr =/

This angle's better

Sparks are flying!

Zhixiang the 二十四孝“老婆” (dutiful 'wife')

Fresh start with the other pit

FAIL pit with half cooked food

Bacardi is so over.
This is the new cool!

After BBQ, a lot of peeps left, the guys went out to play pool, big gang went cycling and we started cleaning up. After cleaning up the chalet we went to bath while Huipeng, Xueqiang, Geri and Jiamin went out to buy drinks.

For awhile the only occupants of the big chalet were only me, Ying Ying and Haoyu. We left him to his own devices when we went to shower and I started (no-life) PW-ing with my lappy after that.

HP, XW, Geri and Jiamin came back after a long time because the Cheers at DTE is so not 24hours and they had to walk to an HDB estate. The guys came back at past 12 (i think) and we started to talk about ghost stories. o.o

Apparently, 无印良品's 掌心 MV has come creepy scenes which were really scary and we decide to explain the weird phenomenon we experienced in our previous chalet beside old changi hospital (rated most haunted place in SG by Singapore Paranormal Investigators). I missed Fatal frame: Crimson butterfly though. 2B used to watch one brave soul play it during chalet and it was damn 刺激. Lol. The person playing was not even making a sound while the rest were screaming.

Anyway, 4A sang me a birthday song (it was 27th after 12AM) and presented me with a lighter(candle) and teh Vodka. Lol. Thanks peeps! It was a pleasant surprise. I was too busy multi-tasking (talking with the rest to be sociable while chionging PW) to notice the planning. (:

We shifted our activities to our individual rooms. I was in room 4 with the rest and we played some bridge before the traditional Truth or Dare. Of course, all that were said were kept within that four walls. (:

We slept at around 6AM and I woke up at around 9AM. The peeps who had to go to school left already so there were even lesser people left. While we were asleep, Ying Ying found some cats rumaging/eating out leftover BBQ food and they totally left behind evidence. Lol. photos of those can be found on Jiamin's FB. The ate our raw cuttlefish and raw chicken wings! Didn't know cats eat cuttlefish and chicken wings. It was partly our fault since we left the window in the kitchen open but lol, I was told Ying Ying was screaming for help to chase away the cats when she discovered it (she doesn't like cats) and I totally didn't hear it.

Well, looks like I'm not such a light sleeper after all.

We took the 10.55AM shuttle bus to Pasir Ris while big gang stayed behind to check out and return their bicycles. I was famished but I was rushing home to meet PX afterwards.

And that shall be in a separate post. (: Gosh. This took so damn long to write..

Anyway LOVE 4A08!!! Missed you guys so much. <3s
